so I get 210 mbps download speed on my phone on wifi, but my PC on powerline adapter only gets 40 + i seem to have consistency issues with ping when playing games

any ideas what might cause this?

How far is the signal travelling? Is it plugged into an extension lead? Any other adapters in the house?

I had this problem, me and my brother are connected too the same internet box, both wired he was getting 500mbps download and i was getting 80, turns out it was just a problem with the ethernet cable.
Either get a new ethernet cable or rewire it urself and that sorted mine now we both get 400mbps download

shut the fuck up (also i didnt even get ping)

replug your powerline and make sure its plugged straight into the wall and not an extension brick. newer houses that have a better electric grid and breaker box have the best reliability and speed for these things so if you have a older house you might be out of luck, anything like a microwave or even a light bulb might knock your internet out for the powerline.

make sure you try different lan cables too or even update firmware on your powerline.

What is your powerline adapter connected to? If you’ve plugged it into a power strip or anywhere besides the wall it’s going to be seriously throttled, and it is already giving you a lower speed than another method would.

Try running a long ethernet cable up directly from your router to your pc.

Also, living in a concrete UK caveman house might be the issue :) go next

Are you downloading to a disk which might be exceeding its limits? Possible a older disk or something? Look at your task manager when downloading and see how much % the disk is using.

nah nothing like that

Highly likely that some device is causing interference with your powerline, that can explain ping spikes. The interference can be anything. Even your neighbour with a HAM radio. Powerline is really unrealiable and there's not much you can do. You'd be better of with a mesh wifi system or just pulling a LAN cable up.

Bump - still having issues even on Wi-Fi - phone runs at around 200mbps download but my PC runs at 15 lmao

fixed, this can be locked
