Mugging - A way to encourage minor crime?

Sounds like the solution to this is to make it as hassle free as it can be for staff to transfer items from one person’s inventory to another without relying on their compliance or on developers to manually do it.

All of these proposed solutions have pretty significant drawbacks that will undoubtedly negatively affect rule abiding players at some point.

Administrators should be encouraged to use the tools available to refund the player or at the very least approve the player to escalate it into a refund request if they wish.
But then a new problem arises, not all can be trusted with this and thus Admin+ would still have to check EVERYTHING that gets refunded or it will get abused someday.

It would most likely become Senior Mod+ and still take loads of work when there is none online

It is also worth pointing out, the mug map is completely arbitrary. The concept of "within public view" is basically made up and the mugging map could be whatever the fuck the people making it wanted it to be.

Muggable areas define players interaction with the map, and if something IS a muggable area it will be a more interesting place to travel through.

Also, late at night, surely a lot of places would be less busy? The map fails to account for this.

By 2.5 I mean for the people being randomly killed, run over ect. Say a sweater punch whoring people in spawn, or a mass RDMer at bazzar. It would be a massive pain in the ass for staff to get everyones items back after it

I briefly mentioned at the bottom ; having areas near the DD which if someone is dead, you can can loot their bodies, for cash items ect which could possibly work imo. (Possibly muggable areas?)
Well in terms of someone rdming people at spawn. I cant imagine a reasonable person would be afk with a lot of drugs or cash at spawn on such a regular basis that it would be a problem for staff. Even if it would be issue, The easy solution I think is to Make players invincible when they just respawned and have not moved yet at all.

As for the RDM I can imagine worst case scenario how funky refunding would get with cash dropping but I don't imagine that MASS RDMs happen so often that this would be as big of an issue as some may think at first. Furthermore, in the event of a mass rdm, staff already do the work to replace lost guns and revive the victims. I think that this would prove to show that regarding the possibility of any added workload, if any were to result, that it would be marginal thanks to the help of logs.

I enjoy some opportunist mugging and find myself in a lot of positions where I could rinse someone of all their possessions but I feel too bad doing it, I wonder if that’s a feeling others have and if there’s something we can do to resolve it as I normally just give their stuff back after I’ve had my fun even if it’s a shit tonne of drugs or money

ive robbed 1000 coke off someone before and not felt bad tbh...

honestly as long as it's not a new player it's fine, should've had a gun in passive!

I personally do stuff like scamming for bulk amounts and mugging and idk it's 50/50 i either just gaslight myself into thinking they're just dumb and left themselves vulnerable. I also just feel sad knowing im using someone's trust but the people I scam are always dumb im ngl.

This is not even a theory, this was what PERPheads was a couple of years ago... dude I came back recently only to almost get banned because of this new "mugging map"? I actually started fuming when I first saw it. I miss the days where you could mug someone in the back of a bazaar shop, yes it was risky, yes it was incredibly fun too. The amount of beef and hatred that comes from mugging fueled the motivation to truly get back at someone, sometimes a carbomb and sometimes searching for the same person for 2 hours only to find out he left the server 1 hour ago.

TL:DR BRING MUGGING BACK PLEASE!
:jawdrop:

I remember the scenario (mentioned above, that almost got me banned for 3 months FYI) was done outside of suburbs park, specifically the road between church and Fredy's. that road is rarely used by players and yet due to "within public view" it was considered public and made me lose face infront of my sweater friends, the guy even flipped me off after I got warned by a staff member... :meh:

We want players to be loot-able for their drugs and cash by civilians. This is the best answer that satisfies the majority of people as it seems.

If you have not already, I encourage you to consider the long list I made that shows just some of the many reasons this would be a positive change. Moreover to consider the positive reception by members, helpers, a moderator and ex-staff.
