That’s really helpful thank you
With those in the cfg and also the other stuff in the launch arguments, what improvement could I possibly see for my game?
Last time I tried something like this I couldn’t move and had to verify my files haha
-high in launch options if you haven't, since Source engine is more so CPU bound the launch option will open the executable in high priority mode which can increase FPS in some instances, it is PERP after all don't expect miracles unless you want to invest in a better CPU.
Alternatively if you don't want this every time you launch gmod automatically, just simply change the priority of the executable to High (don't go above it's not worth it) within Task Manager whilst the game is open
Turning off the 3D skybox helps with FPS a lot, you can set up a bindToggle for this if you appreciate the eyecandy
bindToggle KEY "r_3dsky "
You can replace KEY into something of your choice, I personally use F8 to toggle the 3D skybox.
'Performance' configs are for the most part.. terrible, don't use those. Just ensure you have multicore turned on under the 64 bit branch of gmod, this is very easily turned on with a checkbox on the server in the F1 settings menu, I think it's also in the gmod video options but you can go figure that one out.
Fullscreen mode tends to be best visually however borderless windowed is also fine, this is more so preference and if you have a high refresh rate monitor I am sure that borderless windowed is kinda bad whereas playing it in full screen, at least it feels that way for me in other games too.
If your binds are messed up, you can reset them to default easily within the game, you must've ran a config file with unbindall within it or had those keys replaced to something else by the config file.
