Discussion Post: https://perpheads.com/threads/claim-system.23095/ (was made by Xhantium)

Main Idea: Once a refund is accepted, it is submitted via the website, where it waits for approval by senior administration, once approved it is submitted to a mysql database which stores the refund against the user's steamid, containing the items/cash. The user is also sent an automatic inbox on the forums containing a unique ticket/code they redeem in game by typing "/refund <ticket>" to claim their items, once this occurs the website is updated as the user's refund is now claimed, and no longer needs to be stored within the database.

Full description of the idea: (from the discussion post)

You could have 'refund items' bound to your steam ID on the SQL database or whatever that stay there for a prolonged amount of time (or even permanently?) which would be far more efficient and then claimable ingame, although someone would still have to go in-game to add these items but maybe there could be an external way of adding them too once a refund is accepted.

So for example a refund request is accepted and submitted through the forums or in-game, this assigns the refund a unique number and the items are automatically attatched to your steam ID and the staff member posts this "unique number" in the thread for you to use, then you do something like "/refund xxxx" in chat and a window pops up verifying all the items that you should have and you press "Claim" or something along the lines and it gets sent to your storage, saving a lot of time waiting for Senior administration to come online at certain times, and also reducing the amount of work they have to do :booty:

Why should it be added?: I feel like this would be a far more efficent system that would save up a lot of time (although may take time develpoing and making perfect) reducing the amount of time that players are waiting to get their items.

Pros:
  • Reduced time waiting for items
  • MrLewis wont get nagged to do refund constantly :trande:
Cons:
Unknown

*Other additions:
Senior admins still have to "verify" that the RR is completely valid?

I was about to post a new post, but since this already exists, I'll throw some extra details hehe (thought the post got buried)

A list of how things would work

  1. User makes a regular refund, which then is accepted
  2. Refund would now be submitted via the website
  3. Refund on the website (which would be private to staff only) now has to be approved by senior administration (or admins too)
  4. Refund now has a unique code associated with it, which is sent to the user via an inbox upon approval, this will allow them to claim the refund in-game
  5. User claims the refund in-game via a simple command
  6. Refund gets moved on to 'claimed refunds'
I made a quick thing on paint to show how it would look from the website point of view

This would allow for easier tracking of refund requests as it would now be more organized, it would also mean less waiting as the time between your refund accepted and waiting for senior administration to be available in-game is now nullified. There would be less reports sitting around in-game asking for reports to be claimed as well, which while not a massive problem, just removes something unnecessary in the first place.

For the staff, you would simply submit it similar to how the ancient google form works now (if that is still used) however obviously through the website as shown above. Once submitted, you are still able to remove it (only yours) if you made any mistakes to resubmit it. You are also able to view the details... by clicking details to see more about a certain refund request. Once a refund is approved, it could only be deleted by senior administration (obviously this is up to the staff team to decide).

This should hopefully speed up the process, and allow a more organised approach to refunds as everything would now remain on the forums, and users can claim refunds far easier than having to (at times) wait long hours for them to get handled in-game.
