Hi everyone,

As a result of the most recent admin meeting, a new rule has been introduced regarding off-server transactions, gambling sites, item orders, loan systems and deposit systems. This change was made to sustain the in-character economy and allow for more oversight of off-server agreements relating to in-character transactions through use of "the Internet" section of the Forums. We also aim to encourage players to join the server to carry out in-character transactions and agreements rather than allowing for money to be made whilst players are not in-game.

We are, however, aware that players might have pending transactions that aren't resolved. To help smooth these over, we will be granting a 14 day grace period starting today to clear up existing agreements.

Off-server transaction disputes will henceforth no longer be settled by the staff team and can be resolved by the involved parties instead.

Rule Changes
  • 3.31 - Transactions
All transactions relating to items or money must take place entirely in-character and on the server. Agreements to perform a transaction may be made on external websites such as “The Internet” section of the forums, but the full transaction must take place in-character and follow the in-character rules.

Examples of off-server websites are not allowed or supported: Loans, gambling, pre-payment item orders, deposit systems.

Informal agreements made between friends can exist out of character, off the server or across multiple lives. However, this is done at their own risk and the transactions are not enforceable by the staff team. Examples of this include: Lending a friend some money, providing payment for crafting materials.

  • 2.8 - Sexual roleplay
In order to help preserve gameplay, sexual acts of any kind may not be performed.

It is also not allowed to display pornographic content of any sort on TVs.

  • 4.4 - Road Crew Workers
Typically, Road Crew Workers may not enter a crime scene if it has not yet been secured by law-enforcement personnel. To impound/boot a vehicle, roadcrew must have been authorized to do so by a law-enforcement personnel, unless the vehicle is abandoned and fully blocking a road.

Road Crew Workers must inform law-enforcement personnel if they have repaired a vehicle that was damaged as a result of a crime.

Road Crew Workers may charge a fee of up to $500 for each of repairing, un-booting or un-impounding a vehicle.

Would for example
You place an order on the website
Pay in character via bank transfer and confirm with a screenshot money was sent
Then receive items when ready

would that be okay?

I would say you could have a "crafting website" But you would not be allowed to make money deposits through the website. If you also die they could just say "nlr" you are in a new life

Would basically still count as prepayment item orders, if on a website.

Also it says agreements can exist through multiple lives but it’s done at your own risk and transactions are not enforceable by staff

I completely disagree with this. A lot of people have put time and money into building crafting websites. This type of RP is not common and the time it takes to run a crafting organization is abundant. You are going to ruin crafting as a whole if you do this. I would strongly suggest having a community vote before implementing a big change like this. If the community votes to get rid of it, then do so but having the administration team just saying "you can't do this now" is not the proper approach imo.

I myself build one of these sites and think it is good this rule was implemented. Alot of things could be managed out of the game and it would deprive the experience of actually dealing with people In character. I understand it is a big change but in my opinion it's a great one. Yes alot of work was put into the sites, But that doesn't mean they should be here.

Although it upsets me marketplaces like perpmarket, waypo etc are now going to be gone, I do understand why this has to be implemented. The Staff team has absolutely no control over such a big part of the gamemode and this can easily be abused to sell your perpcash for real money or anything similar to that, which has already happened before.

When Tyla introduced his loaning system after the release of the Casino I was a bit shocked that this was OK to do considering the fact most people that play this don't know how finances work and don't realise that loaning money costs money. It is a great way to scare off new players that got themselves into a 500k debt and don't know how to pay it. The game becomes unmotivating and they leave.

There are so many different ways crafting organisations can continue operating, however, they need a big startup capital to actually craft items as pre-payments are no longer allowed. They can still take orders and craft these. Yes, this means that most hard work put into websites has now been for nothing but you already knew this risk. It was always said that these 3rd-party websites were not supported by the Staff Team which basically means that it could always be 'taken down' if the Staff Team wants to. And that just happened.

And if I read the rule correctly, the websites may still be used to take orders right? Just not transfer money items. @Collier

I really do think this won't change much, you just can't transfer items through a website anymore.

Additionally, the following changes have been made:

Are you going to reply to my reply? I think this should be seriously reconsidered. Would greatly appreciate it to hear your feedback. Thanks.

Hi Code I didn't see your first message. For complete transparency I was not a big fan of the change, this is because I rely on my Vault of Memes website as a form of income. I really like player made websites obviously as somebody who made one myself. These websites can still be used however this rule basically makes it so staff do not have to enforce any outstanding loans, and makes it so you cannot use any loopholes to collect debts or complete transactions after a life has occurred. The websites can still be used for purchasing things it just requires both parties to be in-game, they can still take place but if there are any disagreements due to website functionality issues or non-payment, staff will NOT help you. The only thing I understand this to outright ban is websites that have a balance system, this creates issues where a player may have a balance on a website for example Super's Casino or my Bank Website but I myself as an individual or website owner do not actually have enough money to pay them back if they decided to withdraw, in my view that is reasonable. I will try my best to get more community input in future but this was a rule decision made by administrators over an extremely complicated matter and was best kept to a small group of people to fight it out. Thanks for the feedback and feel free to come back with any questions or conecrns
