Government Employee Rules (4.1 - 4.14)

As many should know, I made a Guide sometime ago which explained the majority of the rules (1.1-3.26). I didn't get round to doing this one sooner, but have done now. This will be updated if needed. Check the other Rules In Depth Thread with rules 1.1 - 3.26, Here.

4.1- Follow the Law-

Well this is quite self-explanatory isn't it? This essentially means at all-times Government employees must follow the law, at no circumstance should an officer break a law unless they have a valid reason ie, responding to an Emergency. (Rule 4.2) This includes officers following; traffic laws; firearm laws; general laws and using their Authority at a level which is understandable.

4.2- Disregard Traffic Laws-

Well this relates to Rule 4.1 (Follow the Law), in some circumstances Government employees –excluding Road Crew- may Disregard the law. This means that Road Crew has no authority to skip red lights, even with their lights on, if so they would be breaking the Law/Rules. All other Government employees may Disregard the laws when; responding to an emergency. However, while Government Employees have the right to do this, if you do Disregard the law then obviously, you must make sure that your Driving is perfect and that you’re not putting anyone else’s life at risk while doing so.

Essentially, this means that Officers who sit outside of the Police Department doing nothing, can be Fired or reported as they're noticeably not doing their job to their full extent. Another Case with Paramedics, Paramedics must always help others in need, even if they're criminals, they must help all, and some cases may be understandable though. This includes; Secret Service; Firefighters; Road Crew; Police Officers; Paramedics and the Mayor, all may have different cases yet all should perform their job to their best extent.
Paramedic- Let's say that someone calls for help and a Paramedic is currently free, the Paramedic must help.
Secret Service- Let's say the Mayor is in trouble, they're not doing anything, they may be reported, or another scenario is that they’re walking around and not even present with the Mayor.

4.4- Police Officers-

As known, Police officers are the main stronghold to the Police Force, they respond to emergency all the time, however their power and authority is limited. Officers may not call SWAT and put them on standby or code 10, this requires permission from a supervisor.
I recommend checking out Chrissy's 'Police Guidelines'.

4.5- SWAT Officers-

Typically, all SWAT officers are eager to respond to 911 calls and Life Alerts, however SWAT shouldn't respond to Life Alerts at all until a Lieutenant or Sergeant has clarified that SWAT is needed, not normal Officers. If a Life Alert goes off, then SWAT may not respond without permission granted by the Lieutenant/Sergeant.
In addition, SWAT can’t protect the Mayor unless his Life is in immediate danger, ie he’s being shot to death. SWAT cannot ride around in the Limousine unless a valid reason is specified.

4.6- Police Lieutenant-

Basically, the Lieutenant of the Police Force must have a microphone to help Roleplay as people make verbal 911 calls regularly. The Police Lieutenant must have control over the Police force. As mentioned above, The Lieutenant/Sergeants/Police Officers cannot call SWAT to a call which has been directly aimed at them through the 911 Calls. In other words, if a 911 call is made, SWAT may not be deployed to the destination- even with the Lieutenant’s word. About issuing warrants, read the laws.

4.7- Paramedics-

As seen, a lot of people actually run into crime scenes while there is currently an ongoing shootout directly in front of them. It’s clear to understand that if a Paramedic runs into an ongoing crime scene or shootout they’re endangered as soon as they enter, therefore this is forbidden when being a Paramedic. In summation, Paramedics may not enter a crime scene which hasn't been secured by Law Enforcement Personnel.

Paramedics, are part of the EMS team, obviously which gives them a choice between vehicles, there is the Large Ambulance and the Prius. Typically, Paramedics may only use the Toyota Prius to patrol around as it’s the ‘fast’ Ambulance which is the first responder. In addition, it is forbidden to patrol in the Large Ambulance. Moreover, Paramedics may remain at non-crowded areas, such as; the Fire Department; Police Department and the Hospital. When responding to an Emergency and not in the company of an Officer, you must always radio in the situation if there are wounds on the body.

4.8- Firefighters-

As seen, a lot of people actually run into crime scenes while there is currently an ongoing shootout directly in front of them. It’s clear to understand that if a Firefighter runs into an ongoing crime scene or shootout they’re endangered as soon as they enter, therefore this is forbidden when being a Firefighter. In summation, Firefighter may not enter a crime scene which hasn't been secured by Law Enforcement Personnel.

Firefighters, are part of the EMS team, obviously which gives them a choice between vehicles, there is the Large Fire truck and the Dodge RAM. Typically, Firefighters may only use the Dodge RAM to patrol around as it’s the ‘fast’ Fire truck which is the first responder. In addition, it is forbidden to patrol in the Large Fire truck. Moreover, Firefighters may remain at the Fire Department and onmly there. When responding to an Emergency and not in the company of an Officer, you must always radio in the situation if any illegal activity is going on, or how the fire may of started.

4.9- Road Crew-

Same as the others, Road Crew may not enter a crime scene until it has been secured by Law Enforcement Officers, if not they may not enter. This rule basically means that Road Crew must stay within the Road Crew lot until called out, in addition to boot/impound a car RC must have Law Enforcement’s Permission.

4.10- The Mayor-

Now as from the update the Mayor can only demoted the Lieutenant and his/her Secret Service, the Mayor may only demote them if they feel that the occupant isn't following orders or the laws. If they feel that the user isn't performing their duties. In addition, the Mayor has no authority to edit/remove/add any law to Paralake, all the laws which are there are set until OOC'ly changed if needed to. This rule also states the same as in the SWAT Rule, SWAT may only assist the Mayor as protection if their life is in immediate danger. The Mayor must also agree with a Lockdown of the city with the Lieutenant.

4.11- Secret Service Agents-

Essentially, the Secret Service or SS which they are called, are meant to protect the Mayor at all costs, they also need to help out with the Mayor’s requests for reasonable things. However, a lot of people believe that the Mayor has total control over the Secret Service all the time, that’s wrong. The Secret Service can give the Mayor orders to follow in a moment of danger, the Mayor is then not in charge of them for that period of time.

4.12- Speed Enforcement-

Pretty self-explanatory, Speed Enforcement may only respond to Speed related crimes, however this isn’t limited to assisting the Lieutenant or other Government employees with other jobs which they may assist with.

4.13- Capital Punishment-

Under no circumstance, a player may not be killed in the act of breaking the laws, no matter what laws.

4.14- Evidence Seizure-

Basically, LEOs may not destroy any evidence until the scene is properly secured and has been granted the ‘Go’ by a Lieutenant/Sergeant. This includes raiding, a lot of LEOs decided to pick items up once they have killed someone, that’s forbidden.
