@Lelios and I have been working on a revamp of the melee system for the past few months. I am pleased to announce that it will go live tomorrow. You can see all of the ones that we will now have in the picture below.

Changes
  • All melee weapons now follow the same base, in a similar style to how the guns have worked for many years.
    • This will make it easier to add new ones.
    • This makes the damage is applied more consistently.
  • Added three new melee weapons:
    • Hammer
    • Hatchet
    • Meat Cleaver
  • The Combat Knife has a new model.
  • Single handed melee weapons now go into an idle animation after a period of non-use.

First, of all, this is going to be a pretty long post as it contains both the Christmas stuff and the Community Spotlight for the month of November, so we suggest you get a cup of joes before reading this.

Christmas
This year we've decided to do Christmas a bit differently. In past years we've only had Christmas clothing, snow, presents and a doll. By suggestion from our lovely developer @Samuel, we've decided to put massive efforts into Christmas this year, which includes a completely new way of getting Christmas clothing, snowballs, candy, and the biggest thing yet! A proper Christmas calendar with updates, and/or events every day from 1st of December to the 25th of December. This post will be updated every day with the new changes that we release during the month of December, so keep an eye open...

Small Rule Change (27/11/21)

Hi everyone,

As a result of a short discussion in the most recent admin meeting, we have undergone a minor rule change surrounding rule 3.18.

  • 3.18 Storages and trunks
While their life and/or freedom is in imminent danger a player must not use their storage boxes/trunks to avoid losing valuable items that the player is currently holding on their person. This also includes detaching weapon attachments with the intention of avoiding their loss.

  • Wording "immediate" was removed and replaced with "imminent" to reflect impending danger that is about to happen
  • Added "and/or freedom" to enforce players storing illegal items when their freedom is at risk but not their life

  • Added unexpected expense events for when there is a mayor
    • At random times depending on the city budget, an amount of money will be taken from the city to cover made-up things such as repairs to roads
    • Everyone will be notified when this happens via a city broadcast
  • Made it so the city no longer pays for the paycheck increase premium users get
  • Various permission related changes
  • Changed it so that only income tax is self-corrected when there is no mayor
    • It will change depending on the city budget
