So currently I am looking at next weekend to publish the changes I have been working on. Nothing crazy but some good QoL things for now, both mentioned on here and some that I have kept secret.
Something to consider when I talk about any sort of recoil change. We are not Battlefield or CoD so no run and gun type gunplay. We tend treat characters as an average person, not a seasoned combat veteran. That said, my goal is to make it feel more manageable, if possible.
So as an update with nothing new yet. I was looking at new ways we could do recoil, so a lot of testing various means with nothing definitive yet that has felt right. I might make a comprehensive poll about gunplay as it currently is soon.
Would it be possible to add an option to use peripheral scopes in F1>Options? I don't know the technical complications to this but if it is doable and heck even if it requires reconnecting to the server to apply the changes to your game, I would love this.
As police are able to use explosives to blast open doors, and there are some explosives for others, I have a new poll for everyone. https://strawpoll.com/6QnMQqRrane
I'm not sure if I should post it here but since you do the lighting I thought I'd send it just in-case, the Vaxuhal Insignia has Wig Wags on the front bumper but there is no lighting where it's positioned, I have a video below.
It wasn't planned but I am attempting to now improve the performance of fires. Though I do believe I have found a decent way to do it better than it has ever been. Fingers crossed.
So... I got bored of vehicles (I'll resume them shortly), so I did something else fun. I have changed up the fire effect to be a lot better if you ask me. There are more changes that could/should be done with fires but for now I focused solely on how they look.
I'm getting a bit too much into the weeds with trying to correct all the shading, but I have done some fixes on the Cooper65, Transit (old one), and the Ford F100. I am also taking a look at their handling, no massive changes but some simply take longer than they should to reach top speed, so I am correcting that to what seems more reasonable. It should not take the entire length of the highway to reach 30MPH
Random question for anyone willing to vote. This only would apply to non-residential buildings, given how the map is near many limits to add more things. https://strawpoll.com/XmZRQmM63gd
I have a list now of all the most commonly owned vehicles some are a bit surprising to me to be honest. However, I can now use this list to slowly make my way through them fixing some of the shading/graphical issues that some of you may have noticed improved with the latest update if you owned one of the listed vehicles. It should come as no surprise that first on my list is the Mini Cooper 65.
With cars being a major component of the gamemode I am curious where people feel the maintenance aspect currently lies. Exclude any financial consideration when voting. https://strawpoll.com/mpnb1N4BPy5
So what does anyone think of the new emergency vehicle lights? I tried having them synced at one point but it just didn't look right with the new look. There may be some more to come with all that too.
So I have still been working away on a number of other changes and fixes primarily with vehicles. I've also done some proof of concept ideas for some new things that I hope to add, more on that another time.
Having now toyed around with emergency lights for awhile... While the syncing of them helps with color bleeding and stuff, it comes off very visually boring when there is a large mix of them. So I will have them be on their own independent cycles instead.
More news with indicators that's way way overdue! The QOL update they've needed forever, along with all my other upcoming changes (release is TBD) indicators will finally turn off after you complete a turn. Not perfect but they will not toggle off if you turn the opposite way and allows small corrective turns so I consider that a win.
I have been fixing up some of the behind the scenes stuff with vehicles but more over, I have now made it so vehicle indicators can be altered (by us) to have different cycle lengths. This means yours and all other cars will no longer always blink their indicators at the same time every single time.
