STEAM NAME: Acerius (In-Game: Acer Joseph)
STEAM ID: STEAM_0:0:83316799
AGE: 20

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE AN ENFORCER?
Introduction:

My name is Acerius, known as Acer Joseph in-game. I am twenty years old from the United Kingdom and have been a member of PERPHeads since 2013. I play on the server most if not every evening for a few hours, and I also play during the day on weekends.

I play regularly as both a civilian and as a Police Officer, occasionally taking on other EMS roles and the role of Dispatcher. As a civilian I regularly run Bazaar stores such as THE ROYAL’S EMPORIUM and ACER’S ARMOURY & SUPPLIES.

My reasons for wanting to become Enforcer:
Having been a part of this community for such a long time, I have seen it grow and develop in numerous ways – I joined at a young age, and I would like to think that I have grown and developed alongside PERPHeads as well. The server and its amazing players formed a massive part of my childhood and adolescence, and I would love the opportunity to give something back.

I regularly help both new and existing players through OOC, the /help chat, as well as in-game. I find such immense value in spending time here, and I want to be able to help protect the interests of those in the community who value our extensive rules and laws – seeing them as beneficial to good gameplay as opposed to restricting it.

I want to become an asset to the community, a source of calm rationality where people feel able to approach me about any concerns they have. I want to be able to build good rapport with existing staff members, learning from them the valuable skills needed to keep the cogs turning on the server. I strongly feel that I would make positive contributions to both the staff team and the community as a hole if given the opportunity to become an enforcer.

Why I feel that I am a suitable candidate:
I feel that I am an active, purposeful, and conscientious person who tries to make decisions based on good reasoning and judgement. I strive to deliver a positive impact on everything I do, moving on to new challenges with energy and enthusiasm while showing resilience with any setbacks. I always try to look at other ways of working and feel that I do so in a positive and encouraging way.

I have over 700 dedicated hours of PERPHeads playtime and have extensive knowledge of the gamemode, having started off in Simply PERP. I have also been roleplaying both off and on Garry’s Mod in other ways: CW:HL2RP, CW:STALKER, Star Wars RP, OpenAura, and on Minecraft. I have both been a staff member in a number of these communities as well as ran my own such as Roleplay Factory, The Lounge, Precinct-One, Red-Skye, and more.

I always hold myself to a high standard of excellence and ensure that I take a holistic approach to every piece of work and every project. While I have many good relationships with a variety of people in the community, I am confident that I can remain unbiased for the good of the server and in upholding the rules: PERPHeads is a community for everyone, not a select few, and thus everyone should have the opportunity to play the game as it was intended.

REQUIREMENTS
In order for your application to be considered, you must meet the following three requirements:
Your time played on the server must be at least one week:
I joined back in late 2013 and have over 700+ hours of playtime on PERPHeads.

No recent in-game bans and warnings on record, this includes both the forums and the server: During my stay in the community, I have not incurred any in-game bans, and only have one warning. To my knowledge I have not received any warnings on the forums either.

You must have an extensive knowledge and understanding of the server rules and laws to the extent where you can enforce them: I feel that where I assist new players whenever possible and respond to queries both in OOC and /help chat, in combination with my record, that I have demonstrated a good understanding of the rules and laws.

You must have access to and use a microphone. You must maintain an active presence on the TeamSpeak Server: I regularly connect to TeamSpeak 3 and have had good discussions with existing staff members on there. I am also a member of - and attempt to maintain an active presence - on the Discord. I also use my microphone extensively in-game and have the role of PLPD Dispatcher.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to either leave a comment or contact me via the forums/Steam. Most importantly, thank for you taking the time to read my application and I wish you a very lovely rest of the week.

I don't understand the mentality behind why you included a specialist PLPD role in your application as some sort of quality you are supposed to bring? Does this help you get accepted? Do I get a bigger chance of being accepted if I'm a higher rank or in TFU? I haven't seen you active in help chat or assisting any new players by one bit and I don't really think you have the proper knowledge of rules to be able to maintain the role enforcer and deal with reports, tbh at this point I dont think youre fit for enforcer

It's not meant as an attempt to make me more likely to be accepted out of the simple principle of holding a specialist role, but I feel that holding any specialist role in the PLPD or being an SO+ demonstrates that a player has some redeeming qualities. :) Nevertheless, thank you for your feedback!

I don't think I've seen or heard of you ever, I've never seen you as civilian, I've never seen you on duty.
Perhaps try improve your status in the community and applying for helper before applying for enforcer.

Thank you for your feedback; I fear however that we may have missed each other, as I have been on quite regularly both during peak and off-peak!

I haven't really been playing too much as of recently but I hopped on a few days ago and you made my experience everything but enjoyable. I was patrolling with some other officers and you were detained in connection to an incident where somebody was killed. You were eventually able to prove yourself innocent and you were being released when one of the officers jokingly said you were "capping" about your innocence (it was evidently said in a joking manner, if it wasn't, it wouldn't have been phrased that way) and you went completely ballistic - immediately asking for the name and badge number of the officer that made the joke. With this display of emotional instability over something so trivial, I can only imagine how you'd conduct yourself as a staff memberin heated situations. Additionally I believe this showed clear lack of maturity, especially for someone who claims to be 20 years old.

I personally have nothing against you and the fact that you've been a member of the community for a long time can be a good thing, however, you really need to work on handling you emotions better before you even consider becoming a staff member.

Hi, I am not trying to defend Acerius his actions nor am I trying to say this in a bad manner. But this sounds to me like an in-character incident and would be fine. Unless this was taken out of character, then my bad for posting this.

Hey, thanks for your feedback.

As Lucius has eluded to, this was In-Character. Requesting a name and badge number is an In-Character scenario, as is making IA Requests. I also had a Supervisor attend later on who then apologised on your behalf and provided me with the name and badge numbers of the officers in the vehicle.

Everyone is entitled to receive the badge numbers and names of PLPD Officers if they feel that those Officers have not conducted themselves professionally or within the remit of PLPD Policies/Paralake Laws - that's why the Internal Affairs system exists. It is not a representation of someone's Out-of-Character personality.

I did not take this Out-of-Character at any stage, either by filing an F6 request, an AR on the forums, or speaking in OOC/LOOC chat about it and as such I do not feel that this is a just and relevant example of my ability to qualify as a staff member.

No, it would not be fine, he showed very little emotional restraint in the situation and you cannot argue that he is trying to roleplay a character that goes ballistic over a small joke.

The whole issue is you taking this small joke as a serious issue in the first place, you weren't negatively effected by it and I fear that you may not be able to hold back your emotions in OOC situations.

This will be my last response regarding this as it is clear you have a very different opinion on this matter.

My recollection of these events is that although I spoke in a raised tone, I simply said "which Officer in the vehicle said that, I want your name and badge number" to which I was uncuffed and they responded "no dude c'mon, chill out" and drove off. Refusing to provide your name and badge number is against PLPD policy anyway, but regardless:

It stemmed more from the fact that you had arrested me for apparent murder as part of a hit and run, and refused to listen to me when I said I made a 911 call, transiting me all the way to the PD after forcing me out of my vehicle, only to find out that I was correct.

If someone is falsely arrested and Officers continue to make inflammatory remarks and gang up on them, I wouldn't expect them to show much emotional restraint and would actively encourage them to ask for name & badge numbers to make an IA request.

I personally think you're not ready for enforcer.

While you claim to have 700 hours of playtime from back in 2013, the rules and how they're enforced have changed a lot since then, so it's worth taking some time to relearn the community and rules etc, before going for a staff role.
I feel that I haven't seen you online much since your return to PERP, and when I do see you online, it seems that you're mostly idling around doing nothing.
