Game crashing/pausing

So after some time playing my screen freezes and deletes a lot of the map, I will provide a screen shot however I can hear my movement around people talking and I can access console but I just can’t see anything in doing, does anyone know why or onow a fix to it? Thanks in advanced!

Exactly like Synatec said. There is a chance you have some corrupt files somewhere. Just verify your Game files, If that doesn't fix it, Maybe reinstall the CS:S Content and Perp content.
Have you got any old maps installed?

After analysing the crash file it showed the following error
ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 - The instruction at 0x%p referenced memory at 0x%p. The memory could not be %s.

This can mean a lot of things
Worst case, RAM dead or corrupted
Best case, Virus or outdated Drivers.

I suggest running a scan and updating drivers, if this did not solve it, it might be your RAM.

I am not a professional in this, maybe @Sneaky is down to help.

0xc0000005 is a really generic error and doesn't nessesarily indicate a RAM issue. I'm assuming since you uploaded a crash file you:

1. Join the server
2. Your game freezes, but you can still here people
3. you get the error message, closing this crashes the game?

It would really help if you could tell me how much RAM you have, if you're running the 64bit version of gmod or not and what antivirus you use. Some antivirusses even in 2020 are dogshit and are so aggressive they cause behaviour like this. AVG is a prime example of causing errors like these in games.

hmm, you can use a tool like DDU to completely wipe your display drivers, so you can reinstall the latest version of them afterwards. It might be worthy to just get rid of Norton, Defender is just as good if not better and less intrusive, as it's build into windows 10. If you dont want to get rid of it try disabling it during gaming or add the garry's mod to an 'ignore list'
