@Testa Lagusa is a person well known for his Passive RP and he's come a long way. So if you rant about people not letting you passive RP you're lying to yourself and trying to cause some sort of drama.
The classic "this individual have been successful therefore you can be to" argument. I think we both know this is just a little dishonest here. Firstly, Testa is a wonderful person, but to compare his experience to that of an average PH user is just ridiculous. He's a very popular and liked individual within the community, and he's earned that, but not every user is going to be so lucky. A lot of decisions on raiding someone are made whether they are known or not or if they look vulnerable and "passive RP" makes you VERY vulnerable and as such people raid you.

Claiming that he got to where he is now is even more ridiculous. Testa's intentions from the start was just to Passive RP (At least that's what I saw in him), he never grew or anything like that therefore he has gained his reputation through that. If you really are a Passive RP'er like he is then you'd probably be where he is. Another great example is @Rogue Matiz Tyres, you're gonna tell me he got here by luck too? Another person known for his RP is @Thomas DeSimone he is someone who takes criminal RP to another level because he enjoys it and that's just how he is. So sorry to break it to you, but if you really are a person of "Passive RP" then nothing will stop you from achieving it. Believe it or not even raiders won't stop you, they will raid you and realize you have nothing then they will leave and probably never raid you again. So in this case when we define an average PH user it's generally someone who doesn't enjoy passive RP or isn't into it because I find people like Testa and Rogue Outstanding PH users

If they don't want passiverp then put them in the back of a van under gunpoint and rape their ass in the forest. Hell yeah that will show em true baggersrp!

Everyone has their own playstyle. I enjoy doing stuff with the o'neils, baggers or set up a restaurant and serve customers for some hours. Its really personal preference, however sometimes i also believe that the server is a bit too dark-rp like. We can discuss years about that the server should be more "passive" however it won't make any difference. Perp is a gamemode that rewards you for doing dark-rp, and barely reward you for passive rping. Its just the way perp is and i dont think that will change in the upcoming year.

The term "passiverp" is dumb. It has no proper definition and is used loosely. Growing drugs, using weapons, conflicts and alike are all important for the server's playstyle. People can roleplay however they like as long as rules are followed; having drugs in the back of your property while roleplaying otherwise? Okay, fine. Yet some would say that's not proper "passiverp" since the user has drugs, which is ridicuolus. Why use a term that seems to be a glorification made up to make one's own roleplay seem better than others' simply because there are no guns/drugs involved? That's just not using certain aspects of the server, and while that's okay, it doesn't make it any "better" than those who do use weapons. People don't ruin other people's "passiverp" when raiding them, they interact with them, even if it causes a negative impact. Some say passiverp is using objects that are not present/available via /me and /desc in order to roleplay, although this makes little sense as I don't see how the name fits. Not to mention this kind of interaction is actively used regardless of situation, whether it be a police stop, coffee shop, raid/break-in or a mugging, and yet the two latter options are not considered "passiverp".

Just play and do what you think is fun, try new stuff if you want to, noone forces you to play a certain way.

Decorate properties with furniture instead of building fortifications though, fuck fortified drug dens, they're ugly. Treat yourself, invest in right proper furniture.

I don't think you can really blame anyone for it because I know for a fact the reason I don't really go out and roleplay as a civilian very often is because I am too worried that I would get raided and lose all my druggies and I feel the need to make the most out of my time on the server (in terms of productivity) so if I am ever civilian I will probably be growing, I don't need to worry about this when playing as police as you get paid no matter what, so I am free to roleplay properly. The only way to fix this would be to add a rule to prevent random raiding which would be retarded so you're kinda stuck unless you add a cash reward for passiverp somehow.

Perp's just Cops and Robbers who raid other robbers trying to make cash to me now tbh.Yes Passive RP has always been was never affective or anything but just the statisfaction of people actually wanting to involve in your roleplay is amazing thats why people used to do it like @Archibald @Esteboon the Squatalot @DannyD and many more but now? Its rare now to see all bazaar shops being sold and being used like it would be used to do like in V2.The casino craze? That shit was passiverp sure it wasn't the hardest to do but people enjoyed betting or hosting. but what i think is that now if you try there is no point cause no one cares enough to actually get involved anymore and would rather stay in their house grow some drugs while watching youtube, netflix etc or go out raiding to just be able to kill some people.

BTW
Not hating on anyone who plays the way i described it you do you i'll do me.

It's honestly ridiculous how "PassiveRP" has taken up the meaning of "playing the actual fucking game."

The rules are too cemented. People argue for more guidelines and a more rigid ruleset but that detracts hugely from the freedoms and possibilities that encourage actual roleplay.

There are also no opportunities to do so. Apart from the PD the server has fewer tools to do this kind of thing than your average darkrp server.

Gang warfare is a form of passive RP . But instead of having fun and running with the opportunity salty fucks make ARs.

I believe that PassiveRP is something that people often look up to and say that they like it and often want to do it themselves however one of the key figures towards PERP is getting that nice car, which I can understand considering I've been there myself when I actually gave a shit about cars and money in-game, which I barely do anymore, "PassiveRP" (which is just general RP) is expensive, it does cost money and people don't want to be poor but the time I enjoyed perp the most was when me and @Pear were so broke we couldn't even afford an apartment and had to sell stuff to actually buy one and then loose our money again, it was the most fun ever because we had to firstly grind for the money without growing any drugs at all and get it other ways as by just roleplaying homeless where people would give us a few 100$...

I dunno RP in general is quite dead amongst the people growing, and don't come say
haha i do rp as a drug dealer in an apartment
because the only one I've seen do that is @Slayerduck most of you just sit and watch youtube videos not interacting with anything/anyone in-game unless a raid happens.

And it ended up in a gang with drugs, dunno i liked it in the beginning
Thats why we stopped. But also we realizde that we where missing so much money by not powergrowing while still passive rping. So we started growing in the back. Witch escaleted to org wars. Because people strated to raid us.

For Lizard:

Wagwan guys, it's chaboi Murtswold here to drop a dook ie in your brains, PassiveRP is gay asf, you can act all you like that it's how a seriousRP server should be but it's boring, let's face it. The best type of RP you can do, is be serious in doing what you want, you wanna be a criminal? Try and put a ridiculous Italian accent on or something, try and immerse yourself (See @Prepper and 'Nam, @Duffy and PLIP). Honestly, professional policeRP will always trump some idiot on his own typing away /mes like it's a 10FastFingers competition.
- Murtsley

I've attempted PassiveRP multiple times and I can say there are a few outcomes if this:

-Get raided/mugged and forced to suck the raiders dick, then DC after you've dropped everything cause you're fed up and get banned (did mcuwes once, got raided; did a fish and chips shop once, got mugged)

-Barely anyone would take part in it (me and testa set up a detailed electronics store at bazaar once that sold consoles, phones, pcs, games, cameras, etc. and barely anyone bought anything)

-Minges come and start yelling down their mics and do everything to fuck you over

-Baggers

Have you noticed that the only people who complain about getting too little money are powergrowers that already have millions in their bank? They're greedy people and all they want is money even though they don't know what to spend all of their existing money on. Me personally, I rarely grow and usually don't get over 200k in my bank, and I still attempt PassiveRP, even though in the end I'd probably just lose 50k.
It's sad that all people want today is to be rich and to kill everyone, while those of us who try something new and interesting are forced to struggle.

Thinking about it, out of the near 50 people who voted, in the poll, that they should always help those who are passive role playing: how many of them actually do that shit in game and aren't pretending to be some white knight role play god. Most people don't really give two shits about what you're doing unless you've got some weed that they see poking through the wall, they'll raid you and say it was a "random choice" but it's really that you are an easier target as you'll be lacking in instant access to firearms and to proper defences. The real end game in PERP is to have a nice car or rank up in the PD; people who think they really care about others with their roleplay whilst they're just power raiding are just lying to look better.

Hey there, It seems you're quite serious about this topic so I will not try to make some witty joke about it and try to make a proper point on why not a lot of people passively roleplay.

Ever since I joined the server which was around the closing days of 2014, I found something quite obvious, passive roleplay would be really hard to come by for the simple reason that everyone is trying to reach the top. Everyone wants to be better than someone else so it becomes competitive and makes it impossible for passive roleplay to thrive in such conditions. Even I at first tried to play my hand at passive roleplay but I couldn't, I was never able to properly make money for a car or expand the roleplay with others since no one else has time to spare for that.

At the first days I played I always picked jobs like mayor and medic and that's how I made my money to get my first car which was good for me since I was able to both play and also passively roleplay. However it started getting dull and it took hours to make any money. So it became boring and I started growing. Granted I am a failure at growing and making money, it puts the whole situation in perspective, if there is not situations or ways to passively roleplay and also being able to keep up with the competitive nature of the came then it would be difficult to find anyone willing to actually play the game as it's meant to be.

I hope I didn't talk on too much and made a proper point :D

The problem is most of the people who congratulate you on passiveRP (Which is awkward because it's what you're kinda supposed to do) will turn right back around and power-grow with their petty org. There just needs to be more balance in legal and illegal methods of making money.
This basically sums this up. I've been here for just around 2 years and 3 months, shit has been quite similar throughout. There are new ways to "Passive RP" now, the courier job is suitable for something like that but as a civillian, nobody will really interact with you when "Passive RP'ing" as people just want to earn money half the time, some people will... but you'll rarely get many people coming to you. For example, if you opened up a cafe you'll hardly get anyone coming to your cafe, people will be too busy; raiding, mugging, growing etc. I used to try promoting it, so did many others. One person in particular who is well known for what they did is @Prepper - he's not been on in a while, but he did an amazing job at promoting shit like that. Passive RP shouldn't be forced, but it should be promoted. People shouldn't get "motivated" to do it, motivation only lasts so long, "driven" is the word, because you're not going to stop. If there were new ways to promote "Passive RP" along with support from the owners with new features for Passive RP you'd see a lot more of it.

I'm not talking about the shit where people say they role-play as criminals, I'm talking about that that'll make the server a lot more superior than probably any server on Garry's Mod because of the Passive RP. Go setup a restaurant, cafe, a fish market. Or even better, become a Medic and transport people to the hospital for medical attention? Do something like that, then say you have done Passive Roleplay. It's quite simple to do.
