PLPD | Currently proposed changes

@Tyla Jai As I have said before because all police cars are normal civ cars with a double upgrade. We don't really want this but it is what we have

@Tyla Jai I'm sorry but thats a really stupid idea. There would be no balance and being stuck to having those guns 24/7 isn't quite fun either. I find it fun to sometimes be TFU and sometimes mix it up with RTU. If I have to be TFU 24/7 I wouldn't cop. It is fun sometimes to give yourself a challenge and use pistols

@Tyla Jai Because its a specific purpose specialist vehicle, designed with the single and sole purpose of keeping track on suspects in high speed chases, not a patrol vehicle as people use it as. The ability to transport suspects is completely unnecessary.

You guys really want to have a bunch of RTU officers immediately have access to super car speed vehicles? They can barely handle them as is.

  • Increase Speed of Porsche from 100 mph to 120 mph
  • Increase Speed of BMW 340i from 90 mph to 110 mph
    • Good idea and you are not the first to come up with this, but the development team has objections against this.
TinySlayer has said he's happy to implement this, we've just been waiting for Collier to come online to discuss speed figures, so this is in the works already.
Optional High Vis which can be equipped / removed from your inventory
  • again simply a development thing
I understand that this is already working, unsure why your post suggests otherwise that's all.
Always have traffic gear, no requirement to 'gear up' as proposed.
  • Why still haven't explained why exactly you are against this.
This is an unnecessary step which doesn't exist currently so no need to overly-complicate the role by adding this.
  • Simplify it massively
    • means nothing
  • PSD, IA and Policy Board are merged
    • this makes no sense what? especially not for policy board do you even know what it is?
Simplify it massively meant to merge the 3 departments, sorry they're not separate points. I'm just saying you don't need an entire division of investigators when it can just be merged into PSD like IRL. The Policy Board from my understanding is responsible for writing policies, if I am not mistaken this role can be completed by PSD command easily.
  • IA investigators do their investigation and it is reviewed by PSD command for a decision to be made
    • So like the complaint committee but with a larger chance of bias right?
  • Appeals to go to PSD command
    • Don't they already deal with the outcome then?
It's just simplified to less divisions doing shit and stops officers having to wait 2 weeks + for a decision on their case stopping them from being promoted which is the reason it took me so long to get SGT because I kept getting false complaints. PSD can just accept/deny the proposed outcome and if officer wants to dispute this can potentially be reviewed by more command members or just CoD's.
Whitelisted TFO's are always light gear TFUand have access to SMG's and M16, they can't gear down to normal officer
  • How would we set a limit of how many people have access to heave firearms at once?
Heavy TFU would remain regulated on a max slots system as it already is. Light TFU would be unlimited.

@Momo @BigBenji Part of my suggestion includes better training for RTU and easier to remove people that can't drive to RTU standards. I want RTU to be more elitest in terms of training and driving.

@Lucius Husky there's nothing stopping you from not equipping a rifle, you're just a normal officer with wider firearms access should you want it

@BigBenji Traffic officers arrest people frequently and need capacity for this. RTU are pursuit specialists and should be able to compete in pursuits always, also other reasons to buff existing cars/remove emrc

@Tyla Jai Thanks for the reply. The policy board can be joined by nearly anyone and simply goes over policy suggestions and is fairly passive. As for merging IA and PSD to an extend sounds alright to me, however, in general whenever a suggestion like this has been made it has caused nothing but outrage and everyone screams "BIAS" But I agree maybe working with a dispute system might better, however, this would really inconvenience people who get an IA accepted against them unfairly.

As for unlimited light gear, again I am not against this, but I can already see the pitchforks as this would revert to how it was in the beginning.

These have been in the talks for some time, Especially between command members, from what I know. If we voted on these, there is a high probability that most community members will vote 'simplify' as people have been asking for this to happen quite a lot.

@Tyla Jai This sounds great, and I would love for RTU to be for the best of the best only, however, so many people will be excluded because of this, and forcing people to do training has never worked well in the past.

@Momo Stage 2 is the training, we have a re-training system for those who fall eblow standards in place already. I struggle to see how excluding shit officers from an elite division is bad. Patrol division is the default for a reason lmao. I know what you mean by forced training doesn't work but it's how it is atm with the stage 2, I am not proposing anything extra as the stage 2 has already been reformed mostly to the standard I would expect from traffic.

@Tyla Jai Again I don't have an issue with this personally, but the point is that are also a lot of people that don't want everything as serious as this. You won't see much of that there as so far near only command members have replied. Besides this again, this goes entirely against the objective we were given when we are asked to make these proposals.

I think what the issue is, from what I've read, bear in mind, I'm tired at the moment, is that people don't like how RTU,TFU,Patrol and Dispatch are being merged into one line. I.E Gearing up into traffic gear. If this is something that does become an issue, how about giving them a primary firearm back, giving them the 50% armour back but remove access to patrol cars, Maybe even limiting the amount of Traffic cars out. Let's say, Every 4 officers, 1 Car is unlocked, meaning there will be more focus with partners patroling in traffic gear, Less fast cars out on the road.

If this is something people like, What would you say about this @Momo

The details don't really matter yet. It is more about what is trying to be accomplished. currently, the complaint in regards to RTU is that there is no reason not to switch to patrol if you can. There are multiple ways to go about this. As proposed here it would open RTU up to everyone who wants to, however, you must actually make the conscious decision when you got on duty to focus on RTU. I personally do not see any downsides to this. The only argument I heard against it is that it would be more complicated but I fail to understand how.

“Currently, light gear is nothing more different than a different skin, Range Rover, and TFU equipment” ah yes, it is precisely as it was intended to be.

“Obviously there will also be limits to how many weapons can be taken out, I love how you assume there won't be....”

Cant put that blame on me though can you, since I’m only going off things you’ve said, and you didn’t mention that. The problem is, the current system for TFU already allows the exact things you’re implying are going to be implemented.

The whole “bring back SWAT” fiasco was tried with an “event” and the results put the majority of people off of the idea.

“Light gear TFU has received a large number of complaints. Admittedly these changes don't solve them all but have another reason”

Ive only heard 1 person go “op” to the idea of light gear TFU in this thread and I’m Awaiting there response for the reason. What aspect of light gear are people complaining about? It being OP? It’s not OP at all, someone in light gear is simply neglecting a slot for heavy gear TFU to respond to the incident in question. What are the “large number of complaints“ about it?
