When you look at the Remington 870s description is says "Commonly used by law enforcement" so it gave me an idea why not let normal police use shotguns given from the armory? The way this would work is the mayor would have to buy a skill called something like "Police Remington" which would give access to Remington at the armory but they would work similar to the car system, only 2 would be available by default and donator could use it whenever they want and the mayor can increase the amount of shotguns.

I feel this would totally unbalance raids, cops and swat in bulk are already quite overpowered, adding Remington's would pretty much mean every police raid they would most likely win.

I disagree shotguns are mainly close range weaponry and sure they would work well on bank raids but the cops can easily be picked of by the raiders if there are not too many but if your raiding a bank with 10 cops and 4 swat on the server expect difficulty.

This suggestion has come up several times if you look through the past ideas, and it never gets very far due to the potential overuse of the shotgun by police. While yes the shotgun could be useful at times for law enforcement, with how the shotgun is set up to only fire buckshot at this point allowing police to use it at any given time will only lead to disaster. So at some point if we configure the shotgun to use LTL (less than lethal) rounds then we may provide it to police to use. But they would be required to leave it in their car at all times unless in an emergency situation.

Si sounds good make it fire non leathal slugs that require a 2 hit to ACTUALLY kill someone this way that cannot be used as snipers.

Sure they can CaptainHerbert, see http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/uGogybah1cY/maxresdefault.jpg
If it can happen in GTA V, it can happen in perp :p.
And if anyone is taking this literally, unfortunately, using a shotgun as a sniper probably wont work.

Maybe the police battering ram should stay in their cars aswell? Pretty sure carrying a battering ram around is hard work, most cops in real life put the battering ram in the trunk of their vehicle

We don't currently have a literal item for battering ram, so it's not really an object, just a weapon players can have on them. (Sounds a bit weird I know, but just think of it this way, it's something you can use, but there'd be no way to drop it) So for now it'll have to remain on the player and not go in the trunk.

Too many police would use the remington, and not their handguns. This would break realism. Maybe they should be able to equip their own at their risk.

So your saying they can arm themselves for the fee of 500 dollars and maybe a rule which states police must keep the gun in the trunks of their car at all times and only have it equip during a heavy shootout such as a bank robbery?
