Community Meeting

Recently i have been talking to @Knoxy82 and we were going back and forth about rules and how they should be changed.

I would like to call a community meeting on ts3 (if possible by the owners & HA, @Fredy @Bolli) , about how we can fix the community, ex: staff and rules, gameplay.

If possible, things we can discuss would be:

• Bans
• Low player activity
• Staff Discretion
• Rules (5.3, 3.5, 3.6, etc)
• Community Voice (speak about how we can fix the community, each member involved gets a chance at speaking)
• PD Policies
• Other things that bother us within the community

I am just looking out for the best in the community by getting everyone who has had a problem or has one.

From this meeting i just want to make everyones experience x10 better.

Things i don't want in the meeting:

• People targetting others
• Cry babys
• Dumb suggestions
• Being Disrespectful about others opinions
• Being Autistic
• Not being serious

I'm only making this for the people who don't like the way PERPHEADS is heading (im one of them).

Also if this post is just taken as a JOKE, then there's really no point in helping the community at ALL. This whole community would just be looked at as a FAT JOKE.

Honestly if this post is laughed at because i'm "American" then u can fuck right off. I just like Perpheads and want the best for the community.

This would be a great way to discuss the future of the community because the player count has hit an all new low, today the player count didn't even reach 40 i think it topped at 30. as a community we no longer can deny the fact that the server is dying and need to think fast of ways we can bring new players and old players to the server

This would a good step for the community, my concerns is that it wouldn't really reach out to the whole community as it would take to long. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great idea but sadly(it's also a good thing) with how diverse (nationality wise) the server is it would probably be difficult to do this due to time zones differences.

If this were to happen it would be a step in the right direction but I don't think it should be done verbally. Another smart thing would be like how the PLPD does stuff where they have monthly things you can submit(things you would like to see changed or see how people feel about the server at the moment). For example, there could be a google form that's reviewed every month by the staff team that the staff meeting would upload on the forum either through audio or someone types up a summary of it. Also, the owners wouldn't necessarily have to be involved with it. From being on perpheads for 3-4 years now (joined in 2014) I've noticed the owners aren't on the staff side of the server, they're on the development side and they already update what they're doing to the community(through in-game updates and suggestions). I personally don't think this server is going to die soon and I think this server is by far the best community on GMOD, but that doesn't mean it's perfect it does have it's flaws(so do most things) so I think this would be a great thing for the administration to do.

I do hope that this post is taken seriously and we do something like this. Also, @Glacial_Subzero I hope that no one under values you for being an American, I know some people in this community have done it before from personal experience.

I'm only making this for the people who don't like the way PERPHEADS is heading (im one of them).

You can't just deny access to people with a different opinion. How do you expect to have a civil and rational discussion that will benefit the community, if you don't listen to the other side.

In theory a nice idea, but I highly doubt that the community isn't aids enough to just micspam, laugh, interrupt or in other way disrupt the meeting because THEY think that THEIR idea of perfect is in fact the best for the community. The majority of PH members honestly haven't learnt to have a civil discussion yet, let alone let anyone finish their sentence before interrupting.

If you can make this work, I guess it could have a nice impact, but I have my doubts.

Nah but fr I think this would be a great opportunity to get feedback straight from the community. However, I don’t think it’s right to just unban people that are perm banned or something. There is a ban appeal section for a reason. There is a difference between people who leave the community peacefully and people who leave by ruining other’s rp. Most of the people you want unbanned left the community and decided they were gonna “go out with a bang”, quite literally. Those people made their decision and should live with the consequences.
Hopefully the summer will bring a solid playerbase.

Great Idea, The owners are not very active on the forums when it comes to answering our question and I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to get their POV on this matters and help understand what are their ideas for the future of Perp.

It won’t work.

We tried electing people to discuss issues on the server, and that failed.

We also have an idea and suggestions section, so it’s not like you can’t voice your concerns and opinions.

The people that made perp great back in 2013-2015/6 are all gone, either grown up, banned or both. Until some new characters join with as much charisma as those guys, don’t hold you breath.

Oh come on perp is dying for ages and everytime i said it in OOC everyone was like "no" when its a fact but good you realized it after a staff member told you and the main reason why this sever is dying is because staff members thinks this gamemode is Staff-RP that you have to ban everyguy that does a simple mistake if @Bolli @Fredy @MrLewis actually gave @Xquality to use his idea this wouldnt happen in first place +1 for you XQ you predict future

Perp existed too long whilst being too strict. People who were the "life" are gone. Don't care what anyone says, the server is struggling to reach 60 and this is different to every other year where it has dipped, this was all caused by a recent series of events that literally crushed the player base. Nobody will constructively help the server no matter how much they try, not because they don't want to yet because they're not facilitated to do so. It's a lovely idea to want to fix perp but it's pretty much gone beyond saving due to the community having an older-on-average elite player base who the server is no longer tailored to.

I think this is the best way to sum up the reason why perp is dying. This is the exact problem. The elite players who used to play all got to the highest point, the end goal, the finish line. They all got a super expensive car after ages of gang wars and powergrowing. But what comes after this? More gang wars? More ARs? The server isn't being developed to keep it fun after success. Player owned economy is something I haven't heard any updates about in years. It could have saved the playerbase by giving more opportunities, but instead we got drug updates. Bank robbery updates. Weapon updates. That isn't what the server needed.

Personally i think its the players playing on the server who are ruining the server and not actually the server. I mean yeah the construction booklets shite but there is some toxic cunts, and everybody is scared to cause beef. I remember back in 2015, it didn't matter how big you are, you would still get raided. It wasn't all about cars and guns, it was about a non-toxic player base where people could come on and have some fun without getting banned for bullshit reasons.

Perp will never be as good as it was, and some of you think that you know what perp was like when was good, you don't. Back in 2015 the server was fantastic and you would have to wait for hours to get on the server. It was just a place where you can chill to have a bit of entertainment.

The police force is to serious, and the aspect of fun has went out the window. The way of starting out as a sweater was being cop and that went completely out the window. People say all crims do is powergrow, yes to extent but there is something always bad to mention about crims one i hear a lot is crims "Raid all the time and scare new players off" and "All people do is powergrow", WHAT MUCH ELSE IS THERE TO DO? People get frightened from the PD because of the serious skiddy approach people take when being higher up in the PD. yes...it is a serious RP server, however its also a game. Games are made to entertain people, yelling "10-4 code 16 road spike the suspect" is not entertaining its pure cringe.

I think a meeting may be needed, but what i think should really be focused on is, unbanning the good people who made mistakes and made perp the fun, entertaining amazing community it once was and removing people like @Google Chrome who go "[LOOC] Ez" then when you retaliate he reports you for 1.1, despite him reporting you.

Staff members need to start being more lenient with harmless fun and more strict on toxic nobheads.

I agree with a lot of what @Moon The Goon hasn’t said although I can’t say a lot because I missed a lot of 2017.

I mean back in 2015 it was a lot different and in my opinion a lot more enjoyable it seems to me like now there is just one big org that gets bored of growing all day and will want some action then end up raiding people who may then leave because they get really pissed off or whatever, what I miss is having org rivalry that always makes things more interesting and it balances things out more having more orbs than Justin one big org.

Obviously this is not the only problem but you know it would be a lot more fun.
