Graphical Problems

The sky appears to be pitch-black, no stars or anything, the police cars are missing, I can only see sirens and lights. I have the content installed and I have all valve games (which are mountable), this has been occurring ever since I had to re-install gmod due to a black and purple checkerboarded screen on anything but the start menu. Some help would be greatly appreciated!
