Hello! apologies if this is being posted in the wrong place, relatively new to the forums.

I've played just over 14 days on the server so still very new but also a good understanding overall which is growing more and more with time, I've spent long enough grinding drugs in a room and raiding isn't really my thing. I enjoy playing EMS although its slightly overlooked by some I think its a really important job that works hand in hand with PLDP. that being said PLDP is super fun and I love the serious roleplay aspect of it, the rank structure, radio communication and just all of it. Being a pistol cop is a great building block and I understand its where I will gain all experience and knowledge to go up the ranks which I hope to do eventually. couple questions I have about progressing is..

Do you have to pick a specific route. Traffic/TFU or are you able to become both eventually? Is there a specific route you could suggest or is it personal preference?

I have had one OR with positive feed back along with work on points I agreed with, from my understanding more playtime in the role and more positive OR reports are the way to progress to the next rank?

Early on into my PLDP career I was black listed for a short time because I shot someone in storage. I was still learning the server overall and It was totally my bad. will this negatively effect my chances of promotion within PLDP or with multiple Positive ORS and play time can this be overlooked?

Do you have any other advice or words of wisdom?

You don't have to choose between the two, you can be both if you'd like. I chose TFU because I like to PVP, but it's up to your personal preference. If you'd like to chase people in fast police cars and police the road laws, you can go Traffic.

This is mainly how you progress, yes. Any scenario where higher members of the department can speak on your experience, provide examples, and vouch/sponsor you is beneficial. The ranks you apply for will explain a bit of this as well as you go through the stages and/or within the description of the rank on the main application page.

This is largely overlooked if it's been over a month since the expiration date of the violation and will not hinder your progression assuming.

Best advice I can give you to progress quickly is to study the handbooks as much as possible. The quicker you can get to the point of relying on quick memory for important details the better and more fun you will have. Alternatively, you should just keep it bookmarked so you can quickly scan it on another monitor or alt tab. Use the CTRL + F function on the book to quickly find keywords related to questions you might have. Ask other Officers like CPL+ on duty if you have questions as well or DM them on PLPD.online. If you are ever unsure of yourself, just take decision making slow so you don't end up having to deal with annoying & pointless complaints. The worst part about playing cop is having to deal with people who spam a bunch of pointless IAs, or dealing with bots in general, so preparing yourself to where you are confident in your actions and their adherence to the policies will minimize the urge to log off the server or go off duty.
