Hello Suomi friend, anime also known as the superior version of western cartoons contains great art style made by various producers and is a nice breath of fresh air whetever you watch subbed or dubbed as I myself have gotten pretty tired of shows on Netflix or other platforms, the voices are always nice to hear in the story they're involved in as it's a nice change from the usual shows you have that were made in America or Europe. There are also some pretty adult oriented shows like Tokyo Ghoul which is IMO very well done with a story to it and currently airing an on-going season.
There are some anime categories that probably brought a bad name for anime in todays selection, miss me with that harem shit though, watched one and I won't watch more.
Ecchi, whatever floats your boat I guess basically wholesome lewdness or softporn at times but usually has a interesting story to it, just watch porn instead if you only watch ecchi to get off it.
Anime visuals are usually very well done and full of detail, here is a good example from Violet Evergarden (It's on Netflix btw https://www.netflix.com/title/80221698)
If you want an example on why everyone thinks anime is "EWW JAPANESE UNDERAGE PORN" shit then it's mostly thanks to Eromanga Sensei (incest shit IIRC) or stuff like New Game, altough lewd at the beginning but very comfortable later on (yes ofc I watched it for the ass and titties), link is in a spoiler because this whole thread probably has grossed out enough people.
